Let’s face some basic facts. Our president wants to make it so that Americans can get health care. Republicans have moved heaven and earth to stop him. Why? It’s quite simple. Between medical and pharma corporations, the cost of medical care in this country has gone up by leaps and bounds every year for decades. Medicines that cost pennies in other countries cost thousands here. Lately, even insurance companies have started sending patients to other countries to get treatment. Doctors and nurses are not making the price go up. Corporations are raising the costs. Can you guess who contributes big money to republican electoral runs? Who pays for the army of lobbyists (other than the tobacco industry)? The Republicans are bad mouthing a provision for a public health care system of any kind. Why? After all, every country in the world that has such a system has lower death rates, lower infant mortality rates, and less of their per capita as well as GNP spent on health care. Too bad the Republican’s buddies (who contribute to their elections) make their money on the inflated costs charged to the consumer for basic health care.

How can a doctor, honestly, consider it a good idea to help a mother of six who is already living on public help and living with her mother, to have six (admittedly, the delivery of an additional two children to the six was accidental) MORE kids? It seems obvious that something very odd is going on. How can a woman who needs food stamps to feed her children and must impose on her mother for daycare and a roof over her head possibly come up with the amounts of money to have an implantation done? Last I heard, that costs $20,000 – $40,000. What DID she PAY him with? Maybe she made a deal to pay him through the money she makes with her self generated media circus?
Now, she has a web site to bilk the public of even MORE MONEY. Plucking at the heart strings of a public the is ALREADY paying to raise her other children. Considering that the previous six children include several with significant disablities, one can only speculate how much more help will be required from the public to raise the octuplets. I understand that she wanted a big family. I want a BMW. I want a mansion. I have yet to push the stated and random strangers to pay for either one. If she had the money from work or from an inherritance, I would say “Have as many as you want!” The reality is, you and I are paying for her dream. That is sleazy and at least a bit nuts. At this point, there is no way on this earth (short of winning the lottery) that she will EVER be able to support these children without the public footing the bill.
What do I suggest? Take the medical license from the quack who helped her do this questionable act, and put the children in foster care or up for adoption so they can be cared for by a person who has a lick of sense. If I am going to pay to raise the kids, I might as well pay for a qualified person to do it.
